Community Arts Base

“Looking to strengthen city’s soul”

Community Arts Base was formed by a group of artists, small business people and university staff and students in January 1996.
 

River Falls is home to numerous artists - painters, sculptors, potters, glass artists, graphic artists, musicians, storytellers, actors and writers - many of whom are members of CAB and willing to share their time and artwork with others.
 

CAB sponsors many community driven events for people of all ages. CAB works with other organizations to sponsor activities in the arts and humanities.
 

"Music in the Park," a series of free concerts at Veteran's Park every Friday evening in July and August, is co-sponsored by CAB and Mainstreet 2000. Concerts are given by regional musicians and allow people to come together and hear local musicians.
 

 CAB holds children and adult art education classes in various locations. Every September CAB sponsors an art fair called Art on the Kinni.  The fair exhibits and sells art by local artists, sells food and has free performers including musicians and jugglers. Art on the Kinni begins at Veteran's Park and runs along the river through downtown.
