The River Falls Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau invites you to experience River Falls—the City on the Kinni. Ranked as one of the best small cities in the country by Demographics Daily, River Falls exemplifies the best Wisconsin has to offer with its perfect combination of outdoor activities, arts, cultural events and hometown charm. Nestled on the banks of the Kinnickinnic River, River Falls is a bustling community of 15,000 and the home of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Conveniently located 30 minutes from the Twin Cities, River Falls features a historic Main Street adorned with specialty shops, antique stores, and art galleries/studios. Dine at one of our family-friendly restaurants or eateries that offer delicious, home-cooked meals—open year round! For a special treat, relax and enjoy a first-run film with refreshments at the quaint Falls Theatre at 1970’s prices.

River Falls is an entertainment mecca where live music is performed every Friday and Saturday evening year-round at multiple locations. For a relaxing, outdoor summer performance, check out Veteran’s Park or the Summer Concert Series at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Unlimited, year-round opportunities abound for outdoor adventurists. The Class 1 designated trout stream, the Kinnickinnic River, is a treasure trove enjoyed by fly fishing enthusiasts from the Upper Midwest. Kayakers traverse through towering canyons and serene landscapes. A local outfitter will even drop you off and pick you up. It was the “Kinni” that drew city founder, Joel Foster, to the area in 1848.

As a designated bronze-level biking community, the River Falls area offer miles of scenic and rugged trails. The Whitetail Ridge is a Twin Cities favorite for mountain bikers looking for an ever-evolving challenge. Excellent greens and affordable prices make River Falls the preferred destination for area golfers. The 35-acre Glen Park features bountiful tall trees with ball fields, a swimming pool and a must-see suspension bridge—the perfect starting point for miles of trails for hikers.

To highlight a couple of the great community events that take place in River Falls year round, Art on the KinniBacon Bash and the River Falls Roots & Bluegrass Music Festival should definitely be put on your “bucket” list. The bustling University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus also offers an abundance of cultural events including concerts, lectures, fine art exhibits, and plays presented by its theatrical group. The newly completed, lighted, stadium-style ballpark features a covered grandstand and seating for around 300 spectators. Located near Hoffman Park, this community owned ballpark demonstrates that where great people reside, dreams become a reality.
